謝宜靜(Jacqueline Hsieh)來自台灣移民家庭，從小聽父親講述其祖父走進監獄為犯人傳教、為民眾送愛心的的故事，為民眾服務的想法從小在她心裡扎根。大學快畢業時，她謝絕教授推薦她讀數學博士的好意，投身公共政策領域。現任國會眾議員孟昭文辦公室選民服務主任。

她表示，服務社區十年，讓她更懂得民眾需求，將在未來繼續堅持理想，幫助華裔社區民眾。

謝宜靜祖父原為山東一名醫師，曾參加抗日戰爭，內戰後到台灣，成為牧師全心為基督徒與慕道友服務，不僅給總統傳教，更經常進出監獄，為囚犯宣道，「他本可用醫學背景做很多事，但毅然決定為社區服務，從小聽父親講祖父的故事，對我影響很大。」

她的父親曾經營餐館和洗衣店，在她少時，因投資款項被人挪用，只保留住所。父親後來去當出租車司機，母親成為臨床護士(Nurse Practitioner)，辛勤撫養子女成人。「父母希望我們獲得好教育，不要像他們工作時間很長。」這樣的成長經歷，讓謝宜靜更有同情心，懂得人間疾若，「這也是我投身公共政策領域的原因。」

她進入紐約州立大學(SUNY)石溪大學(Stony Brook University)後，攻讀數學和歷史專業，成績優異，大四時下定決心攻讀公共政策研究生，「幫我寫推薦信的數學教授，特別失望我沒有申請數學博士，但我想通過努力幫助更多人。」

她從研究生院畢業後，父親在世界日報看到當時的國會眾議員艾克曼(Gary Ackerman)辦公室正在招人，鼓勵她應徵。「我沒有任何政治人脈，很幸運通過自己努力踏入公共政策領域」。她於2008年起從社區聯絡員起步，2012年擔任選民服務主任。

在孟昭文勝選後，謝宜靜加入其團隊，成為新團隊的選民服務主任，並於2015年升選區事務主任，幫助孟昭文管理地區辦公室，監管選民服務和嘉獎項目，組織各項活動，關注各項法案等對社區的影響等，「我們的團隊非常和諧高效率，每個人都希望把事情做得更好。」

當社區聯絡員時，謝宜靜不僅是高效率解決選民問題最多的社區聯絡員，就連拉斯維加斯、德州的國會眾議員辦公室都打電話找她幫忙，「那時在國會系統服務的華裔比現在少，很高興能幫到他們，也是這些經歷，讓我了解華裔民眾面臨那麼多困難。」

她說，目前華裔社區比原來更團結，華裔的聲音也更響亮，讓她更堅定為華裔社區服務的決心。

此外，她的妹妹謝Julia在研究生畢業後進入法律界，在皇后區地區檢察官辦公室工作多年，並於9月被任命為助理檢察官，姐妹倆在不同領域，共同為華社做貢獻。
